Once a year, USA Hockey, the NHL, and NBC Sports celebrate the great game of hockey with the annual “Hockey Day in America.” This year, that celebration comes to the Motor City as NBC Sports will be broadcasting from Campus Martius in downtown Detroit.

Campus Martius Park in downtown Detroit is set to host NBC Sports for its special coverage of the Red Wings and USA women’s hockey team games Sunday as part of a Hockey Day in America program.
The television network is coming to Hockeytown — the ice rink at Campus Martius, to be exact — to stage NHL Live programming around games at Little Caesars Arena, according to a news release from the Downtown Detroit Partnership, which runs the rink.
The U.S. women’s hockey team plays against Canada in its final game of the Rivalry Series at Little Caesars Arena at noon Sunday. Following that contest, the Detroit Red Wings take on the Philadelphia Flyers at 6 p.m.
Pregame studio coverage from Campus Martius starts at noon. Sportscasters Liam McHugh and Kathryn Tappen are scheduled to lead pregame, intermission and postgame coverage along with game analysts Mike Milbury, Keith Jones and Jeremy Roenick. Tappen will provide reports and reviews from the women’s game.
