Professional Soccer has grown leaps and bounds in recent years in Detroit. This is very apparent by the immense following that the Detroit City FC soccer team has seen since their inception into the National Premier Soccer League. And the teams popularity is looking to grow even more with the recent announcement that they will battle Italy’s Venezia FC in grudge match on July 18th.

Detroit City FC will play host to Venezia FC in an international friendly Tuesday, July 18, the Detroit team announced Tuesday.
The match is at 7:30 p.m. at Hamtramck’s Keyworth Stadium, making it the first of back-to-back international friendlies in Metro Detroit. Paris Saint-Germain and AS Roma will kick off the International Champions Cup at 8:30 p.m. on July 19 at Comerica Park in Detroit.
It will be the first match for Venezia, based in Venice Italy, in the United States.
